Hyper-V Appliance - network issue
Has anyone had success in getting the Hyper-V appliance working?
Documentation for how to get it up and running is pretty limited...
We have it running now however when the OS boots up it doesn't seem to be detecting the network card...
Anyone else seen this?
I've successfully booted off a SLED boot cd and detected the NIC so I'm pretty sure it's not a VM issue in terms of hardware.
Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,
I'm going to look into this today - will let you know if I spot any gotchas.
Thanks, Andrew.

Hello,
OK, it has finished downloading now.
I've copied it to my HyperV R2 server and used the Import function in the console.
I've started the machine and had a look, mine works first time
Can you take a look at your network adapter settings on the VM in hyper-v?
Cheers

Thanks Andrew for the confirmation.
Dan good luck tomorrow. Yes the documentation is a little thin as we aimed for a straightforward import of the virtual machine. it's only half page including the images in page 6 of the Quest VDIAssessment Administration Guide.

Ok.... Couldn't be bothered to wait for tomorrow....
Andrew, I followed the same steps as you but have noticed that on my config it was using a standard NIC not legacy... Removed and added legacy and all is working - helpfull screenshot
Just for fun I repeated the same steps on another host and the correct NIC was used!!!
The only difference between them I could find is that the host that was having issues was running SP1. Not sure if you have SP1?
The SP1 host is going to be rebuilt later this week (with SP1 again).. I'll try and see if it happens again.

Hello,
Glad you got it working
My hyperV is running on a normal 2008 R2 Sp1 server as a Role.
Is yours standalone, core or full install like mine?
Cheers, Andrew.

Full and managed by SCVMM (latest)... I imported direct on the host (not via SCVMM).
I could test on core if you need me too but will have to wait a week or so!
Cheers,
Dan
