Flash Redirection and FLV Player
Hi Community - does anyone know if Flash Redirection will work with FLV Player (http://martijndevisser.com/blog/flv-player/) or does it only redirect content viewed with the Adobe Flash Player plug-in. Many thanks.

Hi Matthew,
Flash redirection will not work with the FLV Player. We only redirect content viewed with the Flash Player plug-in.
FLV Player will still play the files but it will not be as smooth as you experience with Flash redirection.
Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the confirmation.
Could i also just ask will Flash Redirection work for SWF files stored locally and opened through the browser.
Also, are there any registry values you can set to put Flash Redirection and Windows Media Redirection into debug mode, like you can for GA?
Many thanks.

Hello,
Yes, playing local swf files through Internet Explorer seems to work with Flash Redirection.
In 7.2 onwards, we draw a green background whilst the flash is loading to show that Flash redirection is working.
For Windows Media redirection, I believe you only have the log file. To turn on logging, see

Thanks, Andrew.

Thanks Andrew. I enabled the MMR log and played a .wmv file but i am not sure what i am looking for in the log file - there are a few errors but i don't know if these are significant.

Hello,
I suppose that was a bit of sledgehammer approach - sorry.
I much better way to tell if it is working is to look at the pnmmrsvc.exe process on the VDI/TS
With media player shut, it'll use no CPU
With media player playing a video this will jump up (I'm seeing 25% CPU but this will depend massively on your video and your hardware)
So, check if this process is present and being used first.
Is there actually a problem with video playback or are you just checking for future reference?
Thanks, Andrew
