Entered license key after the 7 day trial finished. How to get things working again.
Hello,
I have the VDI Assement up and running with the agent deployed on 9 computers. The 7 day trial ran out last week, today I finaly got the license key today from a sales rep. I've entered it but it appears that the control server lost part of it's setup.
I still see data in the VDI Assessement portion, I have data from today, everything seems fine.
When I loggon to the Administration site, and check under inventory, no machines are reported. the the license status says that 9 agents out of 1,200 are used.
Any suggestion ?
Naim.

Hi Naim,
Thanks for using Quest VDI assessment.
Are the agents reporting that they are successfully contacting the server? If you go to one of your desktops, open the Windows Control Panel and double click "Quest VDI Assessment Agent", the configuration window will open. Go to the "Status" tab and let me know if there are any errors. The "Last successful contact" and "Last successful update" should be within the last ~10 mins.
There are a couple of other things you can try whilst you are in the agent configuration:
- Get New Configuration, and if that does not work
- Stop/Start Agent
Let me know how it goes and we'll go from there.
Regards,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
The agent is reporting a last succesful contact and update in the last hour, today.
In spite of this I did on the client Get New Configuration, Stoped and restarted the agent.
I checked the Quest Applicance \hub admin\Inventory
Machines \Users\Application\ everything is still blank.
What's the best way to reboot the applicance ?
Naim.

Ok never mind,
This is very bizzard but it's not a Quest issue, rather it's a local browser glitch.
I just happened to check the applicance using FireFox 8 instead of IE 9 and all the data under the Admin site is visible !
I think I used IE9 before but I'll stick to firefox for now.

Hi Niam,
Glad to you found a solution.
The IE9 issue may be due to cache and/or privacy settings. That said if you're happy with using FF8 best stick with it.
Thanks,
Mark.
