Enabling reporting - Error creating database
Hello,
After upgrading a client environments test lab to 7.2 (which was successful) on attempting to create the associated reporting database (using File-->Database Configuration in the vWorkspace console), I am presented with the following error message
Microsoft ODBC SQL Server Driver SQL Server User, group or role 'dbo' already exists in the current database
The database appears to create but when acknowledging the above error message, the DB is deleted and I'm unable to proceed beyond this state.
Anyone else seen this problem?
Many thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Was either the vW database or Reporting database created manually before being completed by vWorkspace?
Thanks, Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
I believe the DBA team created an empty vWorkspace DB initially, but the reporting DB is being left in the hands of the tool within the vWorkspace client. I read the through the internal article you sent but as its internal I couldn't obtain the attachment.
Kind Regards
Andrew

Yeah, not sure why that was marked as internal only - probably just an oversight.
I'll ask the author and get back to you.

Hi Andrew,
The best bet is to raise a Support Case for this and someone from Support will then get in touch to guide you through the procedure.
Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew -
We recently upgraded to vWorkspace 7.2 from 7.1 in the lab, and experienced the same issue / error message when attempting to enable reporting for the first time. .
Can the fix steps or solution # for this be posted here? I do not see anything on supportlink that appears to apply. If possible, I would rather not have to open a case to get this addressed.
Thanks in advance,
Keith

Sorry Keith,
There are some SQL commands that I can't post on here because if run by someone who isn't skilled in SQL, it could kill the main vW DB.
