Any smooth way migrating from vWorkspace 7.6 to 8.0?
After using vWorkspace 7.6 for about a year now and still migrating a lot of our approximate 4000 Windows XP users to Windows 7 VDI. I am looking if there's a smooth way to migrate a vWorkspace 7.6 farm to vWorkspace 8.0.
I'm about to follow Knowledge Article 106284, which I think is quite short...
Does anyone have any additions to this article? Did anyone encounter any big problems? Did some new unwanted behaviour happen after the migration? What are the do's and don'ts?

Hi Alex,
The Solution 106284 is as you say a summary of the steps to upgrade your vWorkspace install but it does include all the steps you should take. When running the application installer on your servers all your current settings will be kept, it is just the application files which are upgraded to version 8.0.
The client connectors and PNtools (for VDI) can be upgraded before or after the connection broker and other servers. You can deploy the PNtools via the connection broker or incorporate it into the parent image if you are using desktop cloud where the VDI's will be reprovisioned quickly/often.
As with any version upgrade or change to your vWorkspace installation I would recommend that you review the hotfix summary on our support portal, this will give you prior notice of any known issues and fixes available. For the vWorkspace 8.0 hotfix summary click here
Kind Regards,
David
