VPLEX Health Check Error

Hi Team,

While performing the vplex healthcheck,I got the below error. could you please suggest me how to resolve this.

Management Server System Check

Baseboard Management Control Check : ERROR

     Can not start ipmi service

Hi,

It looks like this particular issue has been reported in the past.  There was a permission problem missing in the call to the ipmi service.

This has been fixed as of GeoSynchrony 5.2 GA release.  If you were running say 5.1 or older code, then this might explain it.

Strange then, this must be something new, or unrelated to the other fix in 5.2.

Please open up a Service Request (SR) with EMC Support.

Hi,

I checked the KB database, it looks like this KB could be it:

VPLEX: VPlexPlatformHealthCheck returns error after root password is requested.

Article Number:000190409

It is open only to Employees and Partners.

Please quote that KB when talking to EMC Support.  There is a workaround that can be applied in 5.3.  This appears to be a regression from 5.2.

It seems like this issue is fixed in the 5.4.1 GA release.

Update - that KB article (000190409) is now available to customers as well.

It is best to confirm the instance with Support before attempting the workaround mentioned in the KB.
