VPLEX : device identification in AIX/Linux
In my scenario I have VPLEX and behind that I have VMAX and VMAX devices are allocated to hosts via VPLEX (one to one). So for my hosts, VPLEX is storage provider but actual data disks are from VMAX. By looking LUN serial number (VPLEX device number) from VM (AIX), is there anyway I can figure out which VMAX device ID its coming from backend ?
Thanks
Rakesh

Thanks but Is that article in given link is incomplete ? because I am not able to find any explanation, how the array LUN ID is correlate or convert to match with VPLEX side ID ? There is table with Array LUN ID and VPLEX side ID but there is no words which explain, how Array LUN ID = VPLEX ID = Server LUN ID ?
Thanks

Hi, this sort of mapping does not exist. The closest you can get is looking at the view map in the gui. There is a cli command that shows something similar . Look up show-use-hierarchy in the cli guide
