Unable to find a logging volume with enough free space
Hi There - ive been provisioning storage to the vplex with no issue for some time now. However fulfilling a project request of
4 x 1.5TB luns and 4 x 250GB Luns when creating the distributed devices the smaller 250GB work fine. but 3 of the 4 1.5 TB fail with the following error:
"unable to attach mirror "device_1" to device 'clusters/cluster-1/devices/device_device_MIRROR'. unable to attach 'device_1' to device 'device_1_MIRROR'.
Unable to find a logging volume at "cluster1" with enough free space to create logging segments for distributed device
please see attached picture containing the error message.
any help would be appreciated.
FYI i do understand that best practice dictates that there should be a 10GB logging vol for every ¬320TB of data. and have read the following:
Tech Tip: Logging Volume Considerations
however as i inherited this system im unsure of the setup or how easy it would be to create another logging volume or whether there is a way to find out if it is full etc...
thanks in advance

Has this been answered for you? I can send you the procedure on how to move the logging volume if you wish

Hi Ankur - thank you for your offer, I have been able to resolve with the assistance of one of the VPLEX support teams.
