Need to figure out how to convert production loads on VPLEX to distributed
Hi VPLEX Experts,
I have a metro cluster setup with a witness. Currently Cluster-1 is running all production and all virtual volumes are configured locally. I need to start replicating the data non-disruptively to Cluster-2. Need help figuring out the proper procedure (preferably steb by step) for converting the cluster-1 local luns to distributed without any interruption to production volumes. Open to suggestions/advice. Thank you.
Thank you

Hello StroageDude777,
In a VPLEX Metro Cluster, Distributed Devices may provide benefits in increased availability and performance, as both Data Centers in the cluster can share production workloads.
To create a distributed device a sequence of steps/tasks has to be maintained.
1.Create a Logging Volume.
2.Identify claimed storage.
3.Create Extents from selected storage.
4.Create Local Devices.
5.Create Distributed Device.
6.Attach Rule-set / Detach Rules.
7.Create Virtual Volumes on the new Distributed Device and export to hosts.
