Windows 11 upgrade painfully slow on Vostro 3400 laptop
PC Health Check showed this Vostro 3400 laptop is fully compatible for upgrade from Windows 10 Pro 22H2 to Windows 11.
Started the update yesterday evening, and it started moving very slow at about 80%. Today morning it is not done yet, at 99%.
There are not any external devices plugged in.
Task manager shows almost no CPU or disk usage and memory is at about 50%.
Any ideas why this upgrade is so painfully slow?

Assuming you have a fast Internet connection, and there is plenty of room on the HDD/SSD, and assuming you have around 8 or better yet 16GB of RAM, the upgrade should move along quickly. If you find that the upgrade has not installed properly there is another method. You can go to the Windows 11 site here and either download the media creation tool or click on the Installation Assistant which will install the upgrade. You can also use the media creation tool to clean install Windows 11 if you so choose.

@JOcean Thank you for your response.
I used the web site you mentioned and was trying to upgrade using the Windows11InstallationAssistant. The Internet connection probably matters during the download phase, but I was having the issue installing it. It was actually stuck at 99% for hours, so I eventually restarted, used Disk Cleanup to clean all Windows update and optimization files, restarted again and then tried installing using media creation tool, and this went pretty fast and was successful.
I am not sure why it would take a whole day and get stuck at 99% previously.
