Will Not Connect to The Internet
Vostro 1014
Laptop given by my supervisor in Afghanistan. Was Windows XP but I have replaced the old HDD with a modern SSD and Installed Aftermarket "Microsoft" Windows 7 SP1 (109 Updates). I have not yet installed the required Dell Drivers to get on the internet and begin the automatic Windows Updates. Can anyone help me through getting the correct drivers to allow internet access? Any help is greatly appreciated.

While you should not be using Windows 7 online (it hasn't seen any security updates in years, so it makes you a target for malware), you'll need at least the chipset drivers and the driver for whatever wireless card you have in the system.

Thank you very much for your response :) The computer is a very old "restored Dell Vostro 1014 that came with Windows XP "originally." The OS and all information files were completely deleted when de-commissioned. I read where the last and only OS upgrade for such an old computer "Dell Website," was updating the OS to Windows 7 32-bit. So that is what I bought, and it uploaded successfully. These computers were the workhorse in Afghanistan during the war until they were deemed to old "out of support." I will research the drivers you have mentioned, and post an update once completed.
