Vostro freezes after short use

Hello, my laptop freezes after one or two minutes of use and the only thing I can do is force shut down using the power key. I can't run diagnostics on it as it freezes during! No matter what I do even if I leave it on my home screen and not open anything it freezes - please help! It's only a couple years old
