Vostro 7620 RAM Upgrade

Vostro 7620

Vostro 7620

Hello,

I tried to upgrade the builtin 16GB RAM with a new Kingston Fury Impact KF548S38IB-32 32GB DDR5 module with no success. After I've replaced the 8GB chip with the new one,  I got black screen with a blinking orange LED indicating that there was a RAM issue. At first I though that there was something wrong with the RAM and had it replaced, however the second one didn't work as well. Restoring the original 8GB chip (and waiting forever as well temporary disconnecting the battery) , restored the laptop to a working state.

Any idea?

Eitan.

Kingston Fury is likely not compatible with your system and your existing RAM. Fury is more for gaming systems and overclocking, and its aggressive timing won't work on many systems like yours.

Note that Kingston.com does not list Fury RAM as compatible with your system.

Crucial has RAM that is guaranteed compatible with your Vostro.
