Vostro 5625, fan noise on AC
Vostro 5625
Hi
Could you please check fan curve on AC adapter on Vostro 5625? Latest bios.. and it runs very noisy even under very little load with 50c on cpu diode
if you could push this to device team,, to optimize it on ac adapter, thanks
brand new machine
It is so much quieter on battery,
thanks

"noise" is certainly subjective. Post a video with audio showing the difference. Does it pass the pre-Windows ePSA diagnostics?

Its a fan noise, not bearing related, but rpm related

EPSA passes fine,, tried quiet profile in mydell,, it helped quite a bit but not enough
after epsa passed i checked in advanced test -> device health max temp on cpu,, was 50c, so device is running very cool

Hi,
the workaround is to install hwinfo - just testing it on Vostro 5635 (also very loud under little load even on Quiet mode [in MyDell app]) and it is working:
1. run hwinfo
2. choose sensors-only
3. sensor warning appears - click continue to monitor this sensor (DELL EC)
4. hit "fan" icon (at the bottom)
5. hit custom auto
6. choose sensor DELL EC: Dell Vostro 16 5635
7. choose Temperature 1 source: CPU Internal
8. set the temperatures and RPMs like below:
