Vostro 5590 AC Adapter not installed
Recently had to replace the power port on my laptop, except now it refuses to turn on if the battery is connected.
If the battery is connected and I plug in the adapter (battery is dead so nothing happens otherwise), the led will blink white once long and once short and the keyboard will flash when ever I try to turn it on, but it won't actually boot up. (Tried holding D while powering on and it cycles through the color screens fine but still fails all boot attempts afterwards)
However if the battery is disconnected and the adapter is plugged in it will give me a warning about not recognizing the adapter, and if I check BIOS it says "Not Installed" when I look under AC adapter. But, it will continue on and boot up fine.
Anyone know a way to fix this? I ordered an extra charging cord to double check the pin didn't somehow get damaged when the port did, but nothing seems wrong with it and it has always worked great before.

There are three possibilities:
You've already eliminated one by replacing the DC jack.
The more common one is a bad plug on the AC adapter, which is next.
If neither of those results in a recognized AC adapter, and you've used OEM parts -- the system board's charging circuit is bad and the mainboard will need replacement.
