Vostro 5510 External Monitor Issues
Hello All, First time poster in need of advice. I tried searching and could not find specific answers. If i missed it, please feel free to pass along the link to the correct thread.
My employer has provided me a Vostro 5510:
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11390H @ 3.40GHz 2.92 GHz
Intel Iris Xe Graphics
I am trying to connect it to a Samsung U28R550 External Monitor (4k). When i connect it via usb-c to DisplayPort it is allowing the proper resolution to be shown (3840x2160), however, the refresh rate is only coming through under 30htz (as tested at UFOtest) and the mouse lag (30 mouse events via vsynchtester) is terrible.
When i connect my personal macbook to the monitor using the same cable, it is providing a full 60htz and ~230 mouse events and is perfectly crisp.
Additionally, i have a second, work-issued, dell laptop (1080p @50-60htz) and it too will only max out at 30htz but has LESS mouse lag than the 4k Samsung. I have also connected this monitor to my macbook and got the full 60htz out of it.
Its odd to me that this laptop will send out a worse quality output to the better quality monitor.
Any thoughts how to get a better output and reduce the mouse lag?
Thank you.
