Vostro 5502 Storage Driver for Windows 11 Clean Install

Question

I'm trying to do a 'clean' install of Windows 11 Professional to upgrade my son's Vostro 5502 laptop from Windows 10 but can't 'see' the hard drive so it's asking for the storage driver. Can anyone point me to where I can download a storage driver that will work with the 'standard' Microsoft Windows 11 Professional & tell me how to get it included on the install media (USB drive)?

Some SSD products are non standard so Windows may not be able to recognize it. Try Windows 11 25H2 which might work as it has many more SSD drivers etc.

That's the version of Windows 11 that I'm using. In fact, I just downloaded it from Microsoft this past week.

As far as some SSD products being non-standard, it's the same SSD that was in the laptop when I bought it from Dell. When I had this problem on my Dell Precision 7780, someone "pointed" me to the driver that I needed & told me how to get it "included" in the files the install would use. I'm hoping that someone can do the same for me for this laptop.

Hello @jltayl213 , you may download this Intel RST driver to a working computer. Double click on downloaded file, then select extract. Create a folder for the driver be extracted. Copy the extracted folder to a USB drive to be used during Windows installation.

Sometimes, the drive(s) do no show after driver being installed, just select refresh (maybe more than one time).

Another issue, if your son's laptop has Windows home edition, it may reinstall Windows 11 home edition without giving you selection option.

@Chino de Oro​, that's exactly what I needed! I'll give that a try this morning. Thanks! FWIW, his laptop had Win10 Pro on it from the factory because I never go with anything less than the Pro version for the security. Thanks again!
