vostro 5502 bios

During use of my Vostro 5502 laptop my keyboard is very laggy and misses letters randomly.  if I plug in an external keyboard, the response is fine.

I notice that, in BIOS, the trackpad is also sluggish and several clicks are needed to select items.

During BIOS update to latest 1.31 I see the Main System Cypress port Controller version is missing - it should be 1.25.64.31.

When I re-run the BIOS update I get a message of "failed BIOS for firmware main usb PD Controller 1".

I've tried manually installing Cypress driver.

I cannot roll back the BIOS as this is blocked.

Is there some kind of hardware failure on the main board?
