Vostro 5471 suspends charging immediatly

Hello,

 - The Problem:

my laptop (Vostro 5471) refuses to charge it´s battery, what I suspect happens only after BIOS update.

I will provide several attachments to help resolve this. Laptop was bought new in 11/2018 and worked fine until the factory battery gave up around 5/2023, I changed it myself, battery held up charge like new and was charging like expected without problems.

The problems started when I bought this (my former) company laptop for my personal use 2 months later 7/2023, tech guy did Data Wipe and updated BIOS for me, only that day when reinstalling Windows it showed him error of unidentifiable battery pack and that system won´t charge it. No error logs since that day tho.

From BIOS info, battery went through 30 charge cycles to this day and it´s health is Excellent (93%).

Only now (last week) I noticed that the battery is not charging because I mostly used it like dektop, constant - AC.

 - Diagnostics I did:

My factory AC adapter looks good, same as port, tried to use different charger and port (USB C) to be sure, without any changes to behaviour.

Today I tried going back to different BIOS version from newest 1.22 back to 1.11 without change (tired of that)

Used Diagnostics tool in BIOS, which showed both 2 chargers, traditional one and USB C one no problems, diagnosed Primary battery to show no problem too.

Tried reconnecting the battery several times, unplugging it and holding power on button for 30 sec., reinstalling drivers, uninstalling battery charging driver and starting it without it...

In System Health (BIOS tab) after connecting AC it charges BUT, Primary Battery current flow jumps to ± 600 mA but goes down to barely ± 40 mA pretty quickly and either stays there or sometime goes to Idle 0 mA no charging mode.

from powercfg /batteryreport it looks like system is suspending the charging immediatly after starting it

By the way, I got the laptop for 50 € so I don´t feel like buying new OEM battery just to see if it helps.

Half of my kingdom and princess to the brave knight resolving this :S (not rly)

For whatever reason, the battery has failed -- if it's as new as you state and came with a year's warranty, contact the seller for replacement.
