Vostro 3750, faulty motherboard, smoke

today morning when I was using my laptop for some important work suddenly red smoke started coming out near charging port and exhaust fan. I immediately turned off the power supply. Afternoon I dismantled my laptop and observed burning in motherboard near power cable area. Am attaching the pic for reference.

The notebook survived 12 years of use (it dates from 2011).  Unless the drive was evidently damaged, the data is probably still on it and accessible;  purchase an adapter to connect it to a USB port on a working system to do so.

The rest of the system has a total value of perhaps $20-30 US, so no - Dell isn't going to repair or replace it, nor is it even worth doing so, any more than an automaker will replace a car that's that age and has 200,000 miles on it.

Recycle it and replace it.
