Vostro 3560 boot fail
Recently my old vostro struggles to boot. When I press the power button the 3 keys on the top right flash in sequence twice and you hear the HDD power up, then it shuts off
If you keep trying it will eventually start up.
Could it be a bad CMOS battery?

No - even a dead or missing CMOS battery won't halt powerup.
Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the main battery from the mainboard. Hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove and reinstall the memory module(s) and the SSD or hard drive. Reassemble and try again.
If the issue continues, it's likely a bad system board.

@ejn63 thanks will try that. Strange that once it is running it has no problem, even if I leave it on for days. Also if it has been on for a while it will restart without issue, even days later. It seems to resent being ignored.
