updated drivers - now laptop shuts off every night

A few days ago I was having some trouble with sound on a Zoom call so I went to Dells' drivers & downloads page, I installed new Realtek audio drivers but also saw some others listed as CRITICAL like chipset, wifi, rapid storage, etc. so I installed those too.

The next morning I found my Vostro had powered itself off overnight, but not just a normal shutdown. It would not turn itself on with a simple power button press, it required a 20-second push to power on again. Then when it did, it asked for my BitLocker key. Although I do have the keys to my drives, I pressed and held the power button again to reboot, which it finally did and booted into Windows like normal (asked for my PIN to log in).

The computer runs totally fine all day, I'm using it now, but every night it abruptly powers itself off (like pulling the plug, not shutting down applications properly) and I have to go through the same process of multiple reboots to get started again. Every time it asks for the BitLocker key. There are no logs in the Windows System log about shutting down or anything, just random stuff then nothing until I power it back on.

I do have .dmp files being created every day since this started but I don't know how to use them to try pinpointing the problem. Unfortunately I did not keep track of exactly which drivers I updated to try rolling them back one-by-one.

I also noted that the latest Realtek Audio drivers, suggested by Dell, failed to find any audio output devices, including the built-in speaker. I had to go to one version back to get working audio (built-in speaker, headphones jack, monitor speakers). This makes me think that if that driver was not the proper one for my specific computer (even though it was the one Dell suggested based on my service tag) then maybe some other critical ones like chipset or bios or video may also be incorrect, and that is what is causing this shutdown.

I have not found a way to replicate the problem other than waiting until the next morning and observing whether the computer shuts itself off (so far, yes, every day).

Anybody recognize this specific pattern? Abrupt power off -> 20-second power button press to regain any power -> ask for BitLocker key -> reboot again via power button long-press, boots into Windows.

Thank you.
