Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failure) when connecting USB-C dock to Vostro 3530

Vostro 15 3530

Vostro 15 3530

We have purchased some Vostro 3530 and have just started prep'ing them up for users. One problem we have is when we connect USB-C docks to these laptops, connected devices such as keyboard, mouse and network all work. But the display port all failed to work.

We have different brands of USB-C docks, such as UGreen, Baseus, J5Create, etc and all exhibit the same issue. Windows would complain that the USB device is not recognized. When I looked at Device Manager in Windows, there is an error on an USB device: Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failure).

Laptops are running Windows 11. I tested them at first powered on, that is even before I installed any other apps, and the problem is already existed. I have installed all the latest Dell drivers and BIOS. Also patched Windows up to the latest.

Anyone experiencing the same problem please and would know a possible solution?

Thanks.

Just some update of the situation. I think the Vostro 3530 does not support Displayport at the USB-C port so no USB-C dock will work.
