Should I install a optional Firmware update from 2019 that shows in Windows Update? (Vostro 5590)
What does this update do?
Should I install it? I'm asking because this update is 6 years old and I'm not sure if it will work properly with Windows 11 or won't actually downgrade something that was previously updated through SupportAssist or Dell Update.
SupportAssist doesn't show any available updates. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Dell%2C%20Inc.%20-%20Firmware%20-%206%2F28%2F2019%2012%3A00%3A00%20AM%20-%201.0.1.0

You're better off ignoring it -- the version you have is probably newer than that old one.

It is the system UEFI firmware (used to be called a BIOS).

@ejn63 Are you sure? Bioses have a diffrent software versioning than this update. I have Bios 1.24.0 (2 dots) and this update is 1.0.1.0 (3 dots)

Sounds like an original release that's much older than you already have (that's the second set of digits). I would ignore -- though you can attempt an install (where it should kick an error about downgrading).
