Need Vostro 14 3400 M.2 2280 SSD Thermal Bracket

Question

I want to replace the M.2 2230 SSD in my Vostro 14 3400 with a 2280 sized SSD. The thermal bracket holding the 2230 SSD won't fit a 2280 SSD, so I need to source a suitable 2280 bracket. Can anyone help with a UK source for this, or at least let me have the part number? Thanks.

Thanks, but that bracket is only for M.2 2230 SSDs (that's what my Vostro 3400 has). You can't install a 2280 SSD with that bracket, as it has an unmoveable screw fix and tabs on the underside for the 2230.

You can find that thermal support bracket at Amazon here. And the part number is 0HTHJM.

Strange as the service manual shows the 0HTHJM as the bracket for the 2280 in the description for installing the 2280 SSD here.

EDIT: After looking at the service manual they may be showing the wrong bracket as the required bracket. And a Google search was not productive. Is it possible to bend the tabs not knowing if the screw fix would cause a problem.

Yes, they are showing the wrong bracket in the service manual. It might be possible to bend the tabs, but the screw fix still protrudes too far and will impinge on the SSD card. At the moment I have the 80mm SSD installed without the bracket, and operating temperatures of the SSD seem to be fine.
