Laptop is not starting
My laptop was working fine till now
Since last few days the brightness keys on keyboard were not functioning and brightness also increased to full but i ignored it
Today I started my laptop but at first I started but mouse had stopped working
The curser was moving around screen but i was not able to select anything
Then I decided to restart laptop
After restarting it won't start again
It just shows Dell symbol and then screen becomes black

Please post the exact model number of your system as that will be necessary for diagnosing the problem.

This Dell support page may help however if possible run diagnostics (F12 immediately at boot) and watch for errors. Have you made any changes or installed any updates prior to the laptop problems? Also I am guessing you have a Vostro 3400, is that correct? Also are you seeing any blinking diagnostic lights?

My device is Vostro 14 3000

Just now I was able to run a diagnostoc test
Results were successful with no error for both quick and advance tests
After tests when I exited the diagnostic centre laptop shut down
On restarting it went back to going black after showing dell icon
