i spilled coffee on my laptop, do i need to get it cleaned?

i accidentally spilled some coffee on my laptop (Dell vostro 3520), it was the leftover water from the melted ice in the bottom of the glass, mixed with sugar and instant coffee, and after frantically turning it off and drying the liquid which only cover the top right quarter of my keyboard, i left the laptop dry for 48 hours, and then turned it on and it works with no issues Thank God, but google seems to suggest that i should send it to a repair shop and get it cleaned internally because the sugary coffee mix could lead to problems later.
all the keys work fine, and the systems seem ok too, do i need to get my laptop opened and cleaned?

Yes, you do -- residual spillage will eventually damage the system.

Service manual is here if you plan to do the work yourself.

I just read it has a spill guard, does that make any difference?

I would still check inside the system and clean any residue sooner rather than later.
