How to display BIOS on an external monitor?

Connecting everything through compatible docking station and I managed to access BIOS screen on various setup.  The usual hot key for external display does not work quite well for me.

On older mobile workstation, there is E-Port Replicator which would allow users to just place the laptop on top of the port, with the lid closed.  The replicator, also called docking station, has all the connection to monitors, mouse and keyboard, network, and USB ports.  It would allow the setup to work just as a desktop.  In this setup, user can tap on F2 for BIOS or F12 for one time boot, also has BIOS option.
