Hinge Broken on Dell Vostro 15 3515 – Requesting Goodwill Repair

Hello Dell Community,

I own a Dell Vostro 15 3515 (Service Tag: D067SN3). I purchased it about a year ago but rarely used it during the first year. Recently, I started using it daily, and after just 3 days of normal use, the hinge suddenly broke while opening/closing the laptop.

I ran the EPSA diagnostics, and all tests passed, confirming there are no other hardware issues. I have attached photos of the broken hinge.

This appears to be a design/manufacturing defect, as the laptop was lightly used and the hinge failed abruptly. I have read about similar hinge failures reported by other users in the Vostro 15 3515 and Inspiron 3515 series.

My warranty expired in May 2024, but I am hoping Dell can provide goodwill support or guidance for repair, since this issue is clearly not due to mishandling.

Could anyone from Dell or the community advise if I can get this repaired for free or at a discount? Any guidance on the next steps would be highly ap preciated.
