Help Please, vostro 5590 screen is distorted for 2 seconds, clean for 2 seconds.

Question

Hello,

My Vostro 5590 Windows 10 pro screen gets distorted for exactly 2 seconds, then is normal for 2 seconds. This pattern repeats every 4 seconds without end.

This happens in Bios and windows.
When hooking up additional HDMI monitor, the monitor does not have issues, only laptop screen.
I have tried uninstalling video drivers and reinstalling, and updating dell software.

Any suggestions would help.

Run a screen diagnostic (hold D through powerup). Does the same fault show on the test screens?

Yes --> replace the display panel.

No --> check the display cable that runs between the mainboard and LCD panel. Look for damaged pins on both connectors and along the length of the cable (if any damage shows, replace the cable). If the sockets on the mainboard or display panel are damaged, you'll need to replace the corresponding part --either the display panel or the system board.

Also, diagnostics did not find anything wrong.

Thank you for the reply. The screen does still distort and shake through screen diagnostics. Will look into replacing.
