Dell Vostro Laptop Sudden Performance Drop and Fan Noise Issue Need Help
My laptop was working fine before but recently I noticed a significant drop in performance even during normal tasks like browsing or using MS Office the system becomes slow and laggy. The fan runs at high speed most of the time even when CPU usage is low. The laptop heats up quickly without heavy usage. Sometimes the system freezes for a few seconds.
My Questions
Is this a thermal issue or BIOS related problem
Is there any known issue with Dell Vostro fan behavior
Should I reinstall Windows or update BIOS manually
Any help would be appreciated

It would help to know the specific model, but if it's more than a couple of years old, it may simply need internal maintenance, including a thorough cleaning and replacement of the thermal pads/compound under the heatsinks.

Download and install Hwinfo then monitor CPU temperature using it. Check if it's going above 90°C. How old you laptop is?

My CPU temperature stays normal but the fan speed suddenly increase within a few seconds. At the same time, my laptop becomes choppy or slow, even though I have 16GB RAM and a 7th-generation Core i7 processor. What should I do?
