Dell vostro 2520 core i3 video card replacement for external monitor
Hi
I have Dell Vostro 2520 with Core i3 (purchased in Year 2014). It has Display Size 15.6 Inches (39.62 cm) and native resolution of this laptop is 1366 x 768 . I understand that if I would like to view Full HD content (1080 p) it would not be possible in this laptop because of above resolution. Even if I connect 1080p or a UHD monitor to this laptop, I understand that the display resolution of the external monitor is limited by the native resolution of the laptop. I have a question on video card replacement.
(a) (i) Is it possible to replace the native video card in the laptop with a high resolution card with below scenario?
my scenario is to provide Full HD content viewing capability only on external monitor / projector connected without making any impact on the laptop native screen's display capabilities, is it still not possible ?
Please suggest
Thanks

No. The GPU is not upgradeable.
The system should be able to do FHD (1920X1080) over HDMI, though. It won't be the fastest system on the planet doing that though. It's a 10 year old budget system with a feature set to match, and it's not worth investing in any hardware upgrades for a system with a total value of probably $20.
