Dell Vostro 15 3510 Ram Upgrade

Hi Dell community. I just wanted to ask if upgrading ram is something a user could do without much expertise or if it's better to refer it to a professional/technician. My model is the Vostro 15 3510 with one ram slot currently open. I hoping to add an additional 16 GB DDR4 SODIMM of ram to the empty slot. Literally any advice helps. Thank you.

Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the mainboard.  Hold the power button for 30 sec.  Then install the RAM and reassemble.  Details in the service manual:

On these Dell UltraBook laptops ... where you have to pry the back cover off without damaging anything ... NO, I would NOT recommend doing it yourself.

There is also the issue of finding the correct memory (Dells are finicky about it). On a laptop, it's better to run only one DIMM if a possible pair can't be EXACTLY matching.
