A backlit keyboard was an option on this model.  That said, the keyboard/palmrest/touchpad is a single unit that needs to be replaced as such.  The unit is about $50 to purchase, so it's not unduly expensive.

The biggest catch is that in order to replace it, the entire system has to be torn apart --- everything from the display to the system board needs to be removed from the system to swap the assembly.  You may or may not consider that something you want to tackle.

Bear in mind that if you break something during the tear-down and reassembly, it won't be covered by warranty.

Service manual is here:

@ERROR2OP were you able to change your non-backlit keyboard with a backlit one?

I have the same laptop that went with non-backlit so I am wondering if I can replace it.

Found this one on Amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PNCH4W6?th=1, but still not sure if the laptop will support it.

Please share with me your experience if you have already replaced it.
