Connecting 2 monitors to dell Vostro 3500

Vostro 3500

Vostro 3500

Hi everyone i am using a dell Vostro 3500 which i connect to an external Monitor on the HDMI port, i bought a USB Hub that has usb, HDMI, VGA, etc ports and connected it to the Type C port and connected a second monitor but its not displaying anything, all other ports are active on the hub so i know that its not a problem with the hub, i also tested the same hub on a different lenovo laptop it was working fine, i tested the dell with a Type C to  HDMI converter but it was the same the second monitor didn't work.

I want to know is the type C port not capable of transferring Video or what the issue here exactly.

Thank you,

AceSiddig97,

A USB-C cable and connector can transfer data and videos as fast as 10 Gbps, support 4K and 8K video resolution, and power devices up to 100 watts.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session.

There is no mention in the manual about the USB-C port being video-enabled, and given the entry level nature of the system, it's very likely it does not support video output (ports that do are labeled as displayport alt mode capable).

It still may be capable of outputting video over USB -- but your dock will need to be displaylink capable in order to do so.
