Why does more reliable and safer WD data center HC320 8TB have a bit more noise and more power consumption ?
Hi, guys out there.
I just ordered a WD data center HC320 8TB HDD. A lot of guys say it has a bit more noise, or rather more power consumption than other models. But it's manual says it provides more data reliability(e.g. head positioning accuracy) and safety. I guess chances are there's a tie between noisiness and reliability & safety. If so, what is the tie ?
I'm no expert. I'm imagining...only one person holds head(access to sectors) in ordinary models whereas two persons do it in HC320 8TB. Is this an acceptable analogy?
Thx in advance.
Best, Dave.

It's an interesting question. I notice WD has an online community as well; they might have an answer.
