Vostro, U2417H, dual monitor set up
Hi,
I have a Vostro desktop with AMD 6450 HD video card. Had been running dual monitor set up and was all good. Upgraded monitors to U2417H and now it won't display on 2nd monitor. Due to different ports on these monitors, one of them has to use either a VGA to Display port or DVI to display port adapter.
have tried 3 different VGA adapters and 3 different DVI adapters. nothing on VGA. DVI adapter does show up as detected, but doesn't show the model number of monitor and there is no display. I also tried to run the Display port out from the working monitor to the mini display port of the blank one, and can't even get that to work!
any help would be much appreciated!

What ports does the AMD 6450 HD video card have to work with?
What is Dell model number of computer and what version of Windows?
Remember, you have to "Extend Desktop" to secondary monitors.
VGA is analog. It's can't detect a monitor by name (but not usually required for basic operation). DVI and DisplayPort should however.
