Vostro ????, 4GB ram, very slow

This DELL PC is very slow I understand its because of Windows 10 on 4GB RAM. How do I get to upgrade RAM?Can somebody from Dell Sales call me? I can't wait 30 minutes for a call.

First of all can you please post the exact model of your system? With that information you can be helped. There are a number of videos on YouTube that will help describe adding RAM but the model number is needed.

It might not be the ram. I support many users with Windows 10 and 4GB ram. They are not slow. Most are within 5-7 years old. For most, I updated the hard drive with a new SSD. You can pickup a new 500GB SSD for $75 Cdn (under $60 US). 8GB ram would be nice too.

I suspect your CPU might be too slow, or you might have done an in place upgrade. If the previous Windows installation was causing you problems (to slow, crashes, etc.) then upgrading instead of doing a wipe the drive and performing a clean install is your problem.

Another possibility that I see often is lack of free disk space on the primary partition. That will kill performance and adding ram won't help.

4 GB ram is more than enough. Suppose if your system support Windows 7 64-bit please install it that helps to improve speed. Suppose if you have possibility to increase to max ram that too helps to improve speed. Windows 8 and Windows 10 I never recommend.

4 Gig is nowhere near enough ram due to system stealing up to 1.5 gigs of ram for INTEL Graphics.

More than 4 gigs ram may not be possible.

You did not specify which model.
