Vostro 460, RX 570 Bios bricked
Hello guys,
I have a Vostro 460 motherboard and yesterday I installed a rx570, everything was working but as soon as I tried to upgrade GPU drivers everything went wrong, the GPU Bios just bricked. Now it does not boot at all unless I disconnect the rx 570 and boot from HD graphics. Having that said, I know in some recent motherboard you can choose to boot or "choose as primary" the HD graphics on BIOS so it can boot and then change the rx 570 bios.
In this case there is no such option in bios.
Could any one share an opinion about this.
And I am 100% sure it is GPU Bios bricked.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
But it was working yesterday, I was just messing up with the rx 570 BIOS and flashed the wrong GPU Bios. (Because they have 3 types of memory, hynix, micron and samsung. And I installed the wrong BIOS memory).
Anyway, that is not the deal, because I know it works. What I want to do is to boot the PC, so, in order to do that I must be able to change the Primary Graphics Card Adpater. Which normaly it is in Advanced -> Primary Graphics Adapter -> IGPJ (instead of PCIe).
Which I am starting to believe that's not possible on Vostro 460.

XPS 8300 / Vostro 460
I think this is a NON UEFI system.
If there is a newer UEFI bios then secure boot must be off with Legacy Option Roms ON. Otherwise you can ONLY use Radeon HD series
aka HD2400 HD3400 HD4600 HD5770 HD6670 HD7750 HD8000 series.
WILL NOT WORK with ANY R Series card due to the Video Bios not supporting DOS VESA Video mode 103.

Not really, but there is a work-around (see last paragraph)

Hello,
Thank you for the reply.
This vostro 460 BIOS is so Limited.. there is so such option. Never seen a BIOS this "dumb". I am quite angry, because I know the solution but this motherboard does not help at all.
Btw, I tried to put a old NVidea on x16 (which is working) and put an adapter x1 to x16 on the second PCIe slot, but it seems that dell does not like having 2 graphics card at the same time.
