Vostro 460, compatible graphic cards

These are the cards that I have installed, drivers loaded, and tested as working on my Vostro-460/XPS-8300:
Nvidia: 7300-GT, 9600-GTS
ATI/AMD: HD-5770, HD-7750

I think only older ATI/AMD cards will work with this non-UEFI motherboard, unless they have a Legacy-BIOS/UEFI Switch.

Nvidia GTX-10x0 cards seem to work in just about any machine ... old or new.

To get a GTX-1070 to fit and work, I think you might have to remove the drive-cage and surely, you will need an upgraded power-supply.

The stock power supply WILL NOT SUPPORT EITHER CARD.

Both are wicked expensive right now.

And there are tons of FAKE cards out there that don't work because they are not actually pascal based gpu's.

The other issue is that the 460 like other dells of this genre has hard drives in the way blocking the video slot. You can only use an 8.5 inch max card with 1 fan period end.

So a 1080TI is likely a NEVER GOING TO FIT into the case.

EVGA Super nova 750B1 110-B1-0750-VR power supply is the recommended upgrade.

The B1 works fine the BT B2 BQ G2 DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.

Radeon HD7750 should work fine without any issues.

Might be Bad card.

I provided it to another team and it worked correctly. I will try again in my 460 to see how it goes.

Same issue here with a gtx 770 DCU2 from asus on a dell vostro 460 witch have the same A06 bios... Any clues?

UEFI cards are not working ever

Thanks for your reply, it’s weird because the card work in a old lga775 build witch don’t support UEFI. Hope to find a fix...
