Vostro 3900 and Xeon e3-1240 v3 compatibility
Hey,
I am planning to upgrade my Vostro 3900. I wanted to replace my old I5-4460 with Xeon E3-1240 v3. Will it work in my pc? Thanks

It may. Some users have installed E3-1246 V3 in Vostro 3900 and ran system benchmark here https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/64102094

I can confirm that the vostro 3900 and the Dell XPS are infact the same motherboards. Both are interchangeable with all core and XEONs that share socket FCLGA1150. You can install up to xeon E3-1280-V3.
