Vostro 3681 NVMe SSD M.2 Standoff Missing
Vostro 3681 - I've been buying those along with Vostro 3888 recently for clients. Last shipment of 5 Vostro 3681's arrived and were all missing NVMe SSD mounting Standoff screw. See attached pic
Contacted support and they said return units. Not the right answer, Dell. Just send me the missing parts and for gosh sakes I hope some bean counter somewhere didn't make a decision to save $0.0001 per PC and not include the standoff screw. If so, it's a poor decision on Dell's part and a real aggravation for Dell customers.

Please post this in customer care forum here

I am not sure which technical support rep asked you to return the machine, in my years of dealing with dell support I have never been asked for a return. Instead I have been offered replacements
Contact care they will certainly do something about it
I am hoping these computers are purchased from dell or authorized dealer

@chucko6
Ask @DELL-Chris M what the part Number is and whether or not its available from Dell Spare parts.
Private message to @DELL-Cares with service tag of affected units might also help.
Or this might work

Do not post order number or Servicetag or any other personal information here.

I found part number "81CF9 M.2 card" on the Dell internal SPMD tool.
But it shows as, "For Sale: No". Contact DELL-Cares. Perhaps their manager can approve a "parts only service" to send 81CF9. Or search the web for, "dell part 81CF9".

Thank you @DELL-Chris M Speedstep and XPS_Man. All of this is very helpful. I have a case open via twitter with @DellCaresPRO and they are working on it. Not sure what the final resolution will be but I'll update this thread when I know more. And yes, I misspoke in my initial message. Replacement's were offered, not just a return. It seems foolish to return/replace a PC for a missing standoff screw.

I just received another new Vostro 3681 from Dell (all of these units were purchased directly from Dell) and the unit I received today does include the proper standoff.
FWIW, all of these units are base configs - 4GB RAM with 1TB HDD that I then upgrade by adding RAM and a NVMe SSD.
