Vostro 3670 i7-8700 max M2 ssd capacity
Hello,
I have not found sure answer to my problem. I want to replace my 500 GB M2 ssd and put 1TB M2(most likely Samsung 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe 970 EVO Plus). I found some auctions on the web for this model with i5 and 1 TB ssd, but also somewhere in some pdf(probably from dell) that max capacity for m2 is 512GB. So my question is what is the real maximum capacity that I could use? Maybe even 2TB M2 drive?

Dell did not set a true hardware limit how large m2 ssd you can use. Dell spec “max” is just what Dell has validated up to that capacity. It is certainly not the maximum that chipset can support. As ssd gets cheaper, go for larger capacity if you need.

Thank you for the information. Today I can only confirm. Previous 500 GB m2 ssd cloned and replaced by mentioned 1 TB m2.

max capacity depends on how much money is in your wallet.
There is no size limit.
M2 can be converted to U2 so it can be 6 terabytes.
