Vostro 3670, change from RAID to ACHI

I am looking to see if there is a way to change from RAID to ACHI on my new Dell Vostro 3670 Desktop. For some reason, Dell (for some reason) sets the BIOS setting to RAID out of the box on Vostro desktops and I was unaware of this and did a whole deployment at my office of 5 PCs and there is one software that is not compatible with hard drives set in RAID configuration. Is there any way to change to ACHI without doing a full Reinstall of Windows or losing any services?

Not that I've ever had any luck doing. Clean install as AHCI (and then never-ever installing Intel-RST) is my prefered way.

I don't feel like re-writing it all, so please just read Intel-RST section here:

https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-General-Read-Only/1-How-to-Clean-install-Windows-7-64-bit-on-Alienware-Desktop/td-p/5588705

IIRC, not being able to completely uninstall Intel-RST (and it's HDD driver) is your main problem.

Yeah, I don't know why they still ship them like this now-days. I think it might be related to their factory imaging solution. My Aurora-R6 came this way, but I was in a hurry to install, so I left it. It seems to work fine. I'm assuming they finally got Intel-RST to run right (and it only took 8 years).

Interesting you found software that is incompatible. I'm sure Intel would like to know about that.

Thanks, I don't use rapid storage so it's not that big of a deal.

Samsung Magician did (the last lime I checked) ... but it complains about it not being AHCI. They really want you running these SATA SSDs in native AHCI-Mode so fine by me.
