Vostro 3650, not able to upgrade RAM

Team,

I purchased 2 DDR3 RAMs, but whenever I insert them my CPU blinks (yellow color in power button) and not booting.

Need help in installing right the DDR3L RAM for my Vostro 3650

1. https://www.crucial.in/ind/en/vostro-3650/CT9253091

Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 UDIMM (CT102464BD160B)

2. Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10)

Crucial is what we usually recommend for non Dell branded memory as its guaranteed to work.

Three things to try.

1. If you don't have the latest BIOS version upgrade the BIOS. Then power off and install the new memory and try.

https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/vostro-3650-desktop/docs

2. Power off the PC, install the memory making sure its properly installed (fully seated).  Remove the CR2032 coin cell battery on the motherboard for 10 minutes.  Reinstall the battery and then power on.  Some times the BIOS must be reset to recognize new memory and the battery removal will reset the BIOS.

3. If the first suggestion does not work, try one memory module at a time and see if it boots.  If it boots with one memory module in one memory slot, move that module to the second slot and try.  If it boots OK with that one memory module, do the same thing with the second module.

Thanks for your comments.

Tried all step, still power light blinks when I insert 8 gb RAM.

1. When I insert 8GB crucial alone, pc not booting,

2. When I insert my working 4GB RAM in slot 1 and slot 2, pc booted, but RAM not detected in "System Information" but CPU z detected the RAM. Please find the details below.

You cannot mix 1.35v and 1.5v modules.

Specs: DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 •

Corsair CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 spec is different.

  • DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
  • Timing 10-10-10-27
  • CAS Latency 10
  • Voltage 1.5V

that is the wrong ram.

that is for toshiba, just looked now at crucial web site, and is WRONG.

Crucial does not sell a 16GB kit,  for your  PC only this as mac., 2x8G.    sorry it lists only the 8GB kit.

not only that but you bought high voltage ram 1.5v and not 1.3v as dell shows to use marked as DDR3L
