Vostro 3470, make M.2 SSD OS drive

Can Vostro 3470(i3 Version) works well with W.D. Blue M.2 Sata SSD which more than 128 GB? What exactly I have to do if I want the M.2 Sata SSD become the OS Drive and the 1TB HardDrive become the storage drive?

The WD drive will work fine. I have used them in Dell systems before. The M.2 SATA drive is certified by Dell for up to 512 GB. Assuming the HDD is now the boot drive with the OS installed on it you have a couple of choices. You can clone from the HDD to the M.2 drive using software such as Macrium Reflect Free. Or you can clean install Windows 10 using the Windows media creation tool. If you clone, then make sure to disconnect the HDD before booting to Windows after cloning is finished. If it looks good then power down and reconnect the HDD. If you clean install then disconnect the HDD first, then install to the SSD. Then reboot and make sure Windows starts properly. If that looks good then power down and reconnect the HDD.

Make sure to wipe the OS off the HDD.

A very good video on cloning...remember to disconnect the HDD before you reboot.

And last a link to the 3470 service manual with instructions on the M.2 and HDD removal and replacement.
