Vostro 3268, packet loss issue

I have a problem but cannot identify the problem? There is a packet loss problem with Ethernet and WiFi on my Vostro 3268 desktop PC. It's a 50% packet drop. On my router, the other devices are working well. But my Vostro 3268 has the problem. I buy my Dell Vostro 3638 in 2017. For nearly 1 year I am stuck on this packet loss. I cannot play any online games because off packet drop. I also call my ISP and we check but its not ISP fault. It's PC fault. Please help.

ok, dude (bro)

we do not know any thing you have there, in your room (a PC sure)

nor ISP nor what  measured packet loss. and is normal for sure, (auto corrections in TCP/IP)

cmd + netstat -s

or wireshark,   tell what you use, and show screens, for best answers, (for sure)

lets say (IDK) you have MODEM (to cable ?) and a you own it router, do you? and you plug your PC

in the modem directly and see if  this problem is cured. using only wired ethernet. to unstated modem.

even my modem ARRIS)   ,32 channel MODEM has a IP address and web page, in the box, and can read uncorrectables and correctable, loss  per channel,  a fact, and channels on CABLE have noise , IT'S bloody TV technology called broad band) my channel 8 is a tad noisy, at 4026 uncorr. but all PAR for TV cable.

that is but one tool,  you can also run speed tests to top sites on the internet and ping delays there too. do that?

7 mS ping. j

Download Mbps
643.21 Mbps (800 to 900 is normal for me) not now.
Just now.. me. internet is slow, now,  because  everyone is home and not at work, corn9 all I guess gaming..

you do know that TP/IP is a collision based protocol right? wiki it and learn?>?

When things get bad, (8billion folks glued to news..com) collisions happen, more.

even at HOME other things in your SUB lan can GO NUTS, that is something is sending out tons of traffic,

like a virus infected PC, or who knows?   I surely do not know what is connected up in your home.

so unplug all things in home using your SUB LAN.  test only the PC and only Ethernet. wired.

if that fails, then go direct to the modem.

or are you confused, and blame packet loss, for some unstated gaming , experience gone wrong.

some games are 100% online, if you use that junk , their servers overload now, (nobody at work or doing work at home, remotely) or any where in the path from you to them and them to you. playing on line are you..

no clues at all what you do to see packet loss.

you will learn soon as gamer for sure.. that the WWW is complex, and rule one you nor anyone else owns it.

WWW is also a MATRIX, by design and when one path fails routers ,(not yours , there) reroute traffic to other paths.. you have no control over this ever.(outside your home)

Next time say 2 things, what game is it? and what tool told you packet loss (btw loss is normal with TCP/IP)

Even tell what you are doing in any GAME not told that made you unhappy,  FPS (frames per sec) or LAG or ?>  games?"shooters?

see this  video www, testing

If Smartbyte is installed, remove it.

if only one PC fails.

do a clean load of W10-64bit, means from MS, and zero bloat ware,

see if that works.  99% of the time, this is the cure,  for sure,

doing fresh  MS installs,  say NO 10 times in that huge page if yes/no there,  no MS accounts, etc.....

there I covered Inside and outside,  net traffic issues.

one more solution is to turn off wifi card, in BIOS make it dead an test with only Ethernet wired.  no Wifi to mess up. (wifi can be a horror for sure it's RF collision domain, and huge count of neighbors,  near by or you using the wrong channels in wifi. disable the card. and test.

good luck gaming!
