Vostro 260 MT, Intel Rapid Storage, Windows 10

I just got an old dekstop PC and it is the Dell Vostro 260 MT i5-2400. I have now used a Solid Stated Device (Samsung EVO 860 500GB) for Windows, and attached a WD 1TB  HDD. I have installed Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. Below is my question, specifically targetted for the 1TB HDD:

1. Is it possible to implement Intel Rapid Storage Technology for this PC? If yes, how? Because I found the IRST in the drivers, but upon installation, I get the error message that says something like incompatible system.

Any help please will be very much appreciated. Thank you!

There are no Dell drivers for windows 10 on that model so you have to use the generic drivers Windows 10 supplies. You are limited with the old hardware. Computers need to have Intel Smart Response to use IRST.

You probably already have seen this--

You have to install DOTNET 3.5 first.

1. OK

2. Perfect

3. Good

4. That's fine

5. You don't want-or-need Intel-RST . It's just an old spinning-HDD and it's not really going to get any faster.

Advanced Format Drives REQUIRE AHCI intel RST 9.6 or later.

If you set the Drive operation to ATA then its not needed.

Older chipsets do not work with newer versions of INTEL RST aka 11.7 12, 13, 14, 15, 16

Larger than 2TB requires 10.1.0.1008 or newer.
