Vostro 200, CMOS Reset
So I removed the CMOS Battery from my Dell Vostro 200 Tower to check whether it needed replacing, and when I had finished checking the battery I put it back in.
I then started it up and the first thing that came up after the Dell Screen was the "Diskette Drive 0 Seek Failure" error and as well as this error, I found that the CMOS had reset itself.
Does anyone know how to fix the error message and the CMOS problem??

First, removing the battery will reset the CMOS Memory (BIOS). Considering the age of the 200 and batteries are generally only good for about 5 years it would have been best to just replace it. The batteries are inexpensive.
There is an option in the BIOS to disable the diskette drive. Since the BIOS was reset that option is enabled by default and why you have to manually disable it. F2 at power on will access the "Setup" (BIOS) and then disable "Drive A". Link to manual below.
