I have a Dell vostro desktop that has been having issues recently. I ran diagnostics and it took me to a page to order a new hard drive. I ordered the hard drive and installed it but now when I try to start the computer I get 'No Bootable Device Found' with only a 'Shutdown' option available. From looking online, I found a thread where someone named 'getro' went through how to deal with this issue (the thread was called 'Inspiron 13, No bootable device found'). The first step was to go to BIOS Setup to the Boot Sequence and click 'Add Boot Option'. However, whenever I do this, I get an alert that says 'File System Not Found'. How do I solve this? Or, if that thread's solution isn't applicable to my computer or my situation, how do I deal with 'No Bootable Device Found'?

You need to install an operating system onto the new drive, which arrives blank.

If the new HDD is used for storage and not a boot drive, is it formatted?
